The Laboratory was founded in 1982 on the basis of the team of researchers which come from the Research Computing Center (MSU) to the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Cybernetics of the Moscow State University.

Staff members:

  • Barashkov Igor, Senior Research Fellow, PhD
  • Berezina Nina, Senior Research Fellow, PhD
  • Lopushenko Vladimir, Senior Research Fellow, PhD
  • Maslov Alexey, Research Fellow, PhD
  • Ingtem Jennie, Research Fellow, PhD
  • Murashkina Ksenia, Mathematician

Members of the Laboratory are taking part in the teaching process of the Faculty.

Regular courses:

  • Object oriented programming by Senior Research Fellow Berezina, 36 lecture hours and 36 seminar hours, 6th semester.

Main Scientific directions

The laboratory of Mathematical physics is principally oriented on the following areas of research:

  1. mathematical modeling of low-frequency electromagnetic fields in a conducting media;
  2. the inverse problem of electromagnetic sounding;
  3. the mathematical modeling and data interpretation of electrical prospecting and geoelectrics.

The areas of interest of the Laboratory are also connected with

  • the emitting systems design;
  • the inverse problem of ionospheric soundings;
  • paleoclimate reconstruction methods on well temperature measurements.

The main theme of the ongoing research in the Laboratory is “Methods of mathematical modeling and solutions of inverse problems in geophysics researches”.
